Beach

IMG-9188

Summer...time to hit the waters and learn to swim! Well, I can swim now but for safety reasons, I still need the "Flügel," hopefully next year I'd be allowed to swim without them.  My brothers are on it too and they will soon learn how, but like me Mom and Dad are being extra careful.

Summers...Mom doesn't like the sun too much because she browns easily, same for us kids but come autumn, our color would pale again.  Sun protection is also important when going out in the summer. A lotion with SPF 30 is best during those fun days...mom would richly lather us!

Don't forget the beach ball, floats, goggles and water gun for additional fun...oh swimsuits and swimwear!!! Mom always buys one size bigger a year before, (read:when they're on sale ;).

My Ipanema

By mommy.

This is not a paid post. I just wanted to share a very nice pair of slippers I found awhile ago, Ipanema - Gisele Bündchen's by Grendele. Honestly I haven't seen them last year, so pardon  me for this late review, some of you might own one already. Though a few critized the design, its ok and at some point I somehow disagree.

I was looking for something to buy for my little boy when I saw this. I was attracted by the design and when I touched it I knew its perfect, not for my little boy but for my daughter.

They were really soft and cute, daughter got some looks while we were walking at the mall. Someone mentioned 'those are really cute slippers that looks so good on her. I simply replied, 'Thanks, its really cute thats why I bought one for me too!' =D

Pardon my dirty foot and nails, I was so excited to try it that day and photographed it afterwards lol. Available in different designs and colors (yes, there's pink and blue!). So nice for walking outdoors and the beach!

Casting

IMG_2268

It has been a long time since I last went to a casting call. I bet though that my Mom is more excited about it than I do. Before going to the studio we dropped by a Libro shop, which you might remember is the first engagement I had with being printed in an Austrian magazine...Mom got me a book which I can read while waiting for my turn because we were sure that there would be lots of kids there. True enough I was number 77 in line...I really did my best posing and smiling! We didn't expect to hear much because we came late. I just enjoyed the sun outside and played with the fountain at the center of the plaza near the studio. The tulips where in full bloom too and were in agreement with my top!

Me on Libro Journal

During the first week of June, I had my first call for a photoshoot, it was for a book, office/school supplies store, Libro. It was still summer but the photos will be used for the incoming school year (September), which is actually in Autumn. We were required to wear light jacket to portray this. I was not in the mood as much, I felt hot because of the jacket on a warm day! At the end I removed it totally.

Mom never really expected them to use a photo where I am included since I was only cooperative during the start of the shoot. I rarely smiled too. But mom was so glad that they actually did use one last August, too bad that we were'nt able to see it immediately because she did not know that Libro publishes a monthly journal aside from the newsletter which she had loyally collected since. My mom emailed Libro two days ago inquiring about the shoot. Yesterday, Iwe received a reply that a photo was was published and a copy of the mag will be sent....we got it today!

See me here on the printed magazine, posing with a Disney Princess schoolbag and above are sone of the photos during the shoot which were poorly taken (by mommy) with a phone camera. ;)

Painting

alexie painting

Painting or drawing can get messy sometimes, especially for younger tots. Our walls at home would once in a while have markers on them, handprints and taped papers with scribbles. Messy as it may be, kids should not be stopped doing so.

Painting at an early age gives children the capability to recognize colors as they choose what colors to paint with. They see how combining the primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) create other colors.

Painting also becomes an outlet for kids to express their emotions that they can not easily speak out. Stroking, or simlply having to hold the brush practices their motoring skills...they learn how to do darker tones or paint lightly in the process.

Its good to have coloring books but blank papers give them more space for creativity. Who knows, your kid will someday join the ranks of Van Gogh or Monet when honed early. =)

First day of school....

It's my first day of school. Well, yesterday. I got my Disney Princess Schultüte that mom filled with schoolthings and sweets.

I was supposed to be a grade one student as per the school director's advice but mom decided to let me attend the pre-school class. I can read and write now but she thought it's still early. School will be now a part of my life and I'll enjoy it along with play, teachers, new friends and learning.
